CPA stands for ‘cost-per-action’ offers where a user fills out a form or downloads software from an advertiser. These forms can range from a single mail submit to a much longer form with multiple fields. Downloadable software could be for items such as Toolbars, screensavers etc

CPA advertisers generally pay out between $0.25 – $3.50 for a single email submit to as high as $140 for a larger form. What makes promoting CPA offers so attractive is that the user generally does not have to buy anything. Once they complete the lead, you earn a lead commission.

What are CPA networks?

CPA networks are companies that act as middlemen between advertisers and publishers (Affiliates). They host CPA offers from advertisers and have publishers that push traffic to these CPA offers and take a percentage of the lead value. For example, an advertiser may pay a CPA network $4 for every lead generated on the network and the CPA network may pay the publisher $3 per lead generated leaving a $1 profit.

Once you are accepted into a CPA network as an affiliate, you can browse the CPA offers available and decide which ones you would like to promote. For each offer, you are provided a unique Affiliate
ID to promote the offer. The number of the offers a
CPA network has to offer varies according to network. Some have over 1000 different offers across various markets.

The CPA network tracks all your affiliate data and then sends you a cheque at the end of the month for the commissions generated.

Applying to a CPA network

Applying to a CPA network requires an application process by each network. Some CPA networks are easy to get into but it can be difficult to get into some of the major networks especially if you are new to CPA marketing business.

When filling out an application, don’t make it look like you are a beginner. CPA networks don’t want people who are new to CPA marketing as beginners task their time and resources.

You need to indicate that you can drive lots of traffic and that you know what you are doing. In fact, you need to sell yourself. Your ability to sell yourself as an experienced CPA marketer will go a long way towards helping you get accepted by CPA networks.

Most networks require that you have a website/blog. You can create one free at www.wordpress.com or www.bloggers.com . Write about 5-6nposts on affiliate marketing especially CPA marketing. CPA networks look favourably on Affiliate
blogs because they think you are an authority in the Affiliate
marketing industry.

If you still get rejected, don’t get discouraged. You can still apply to hundreds of other CPA networks available. I will provide you with a short list at the end of this article.

You can also make a phone call to a CPA network that rejected you and sell yourself on phone. This usually does the trick 90% of the time.

Small networks don’t usually have the resources that bigger networks have and might have problems with weekly payouts or monthly payouts. Beware of networks that pay 60 days after the month end as most networks will pay you 30 days after the month end.
